Look out Eagles, I’m Shmacked is coming to Florida Gulf Coast University this fall. While this new age adjective “shmacked” still has an unclear definition, it has become regular diction on every college campus. The self-proclaimed media group travels the country, visiting the largest universities and throwing the biggest party of that semester.
After each party, an after-movie is made that always goes viral, depicting the wild parties the company produces at each campus. Students from colleges all over the United States watch these videos and usually develop instant FOMO (fear of missing out).
I’m Shmacked tweeted on May 26, “FGCU?” and received almost 350 retweets; tickets for this event were up less than two hours later. Tank tops are now on sale at their website for $30.
Many students, both current and incoming, don’t see FGCU as a party school, or even as a very reputable school. This visit will not only change that reputation, but could possibly be a game-changer for the university.
Expect to see I’m Shmacked at FGCU during the “Week of Welcome” festivities. The same weekend, I’m Shmacked will also be visiting Florida State University, the nation’s No. 1 party school.
More info to come.
