Did you wake up with the Programming Board for Eaglepalooza tickets? Students lined up outside the bookstore as early as 5:00 a.m. this morning for the exclusive first sale of general admission floor seats. Tickets were priced at $22 per ticket, with a limit of two student tickets per valid Eagle ID. The gate to the bookstore opened promptly at 8:00 a.m. as students cheered and clapped, ready to get their hands on passes for the biggest event of the school year.
This year, students are anticipating the arrival of hip-hop artist Big Sean, along with singer Natalie La Rose. Detroit native Big Sean is known for his hit songs, such as “Beware” featuring Jhené Aiko, “IDFWU” and his feature on Calvin Harris’ “Open Wide.” Natalie La Rose, originally from the Netherlands, is known for her two popular songs “Around The World” ft. Fetty Wap and “Somebody” ft. Jeremih.
“I’m definitely most excited to see Big Sean perform ‘One Man Can Change The World,’” said freshman Ana Hart.
Sophomore Neqebah McMurry said, “I’m looking forward to getting the t-shirt and to see Big Sean pump up the crowd by performing and showing off his talent!”
Ansley Parish, the PB director of concerts, said ticket sales went great for opening day.
“Having students waiting outside of the bookstore makes the whole thing worth it,” Parish said. “We are just looking forward to a great concert this year and having students always remember this as one of their favorite concerts.”
Tickets will continue to be sold throughout the rest of the day until 5:00 p.m.
On Sept. 8, student tickets will be sold at Germain Arena for $22. On Sept. 22, public tickets go on sale at Germain for $32, and on the day of (Nov. 12), all tickets will be $45.
