In honor of National Hispanic Heritage month, the Naples Zoo will be holding a celebration Oct. 10 and 11. The event will be running 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
The event will offer live music, events for the whole family and special guests throughout the two-day celebration.
The zoo staff is looking for bilingual volunteers to help out with the event, but non-bilingual volunteers will not be turned away.
They are specifically looking for volunteers 5 foot 4 inches and under to pose in Diego or Dora costumes and pictures with children. There will be two shifts a day — 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. — with breaks to cool down every 20 minutes.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can email the Naples Zoo volunteer center at [email protected] or by calling 239-262-5409.
