UPD got a crisis alert in regards to a 19-year-old female who had passed out in the student health services modular. Lee Control was contacted, and EMS was escorted by UPD through the main entrance to the modular. The victim was then transported to Gulf Coast Hospital.

A complainant called UPD to request a report of a theft that occurred in the Cohen Center. The complainant had footage of a white male suspect placing three textbooks valued at $465 down his pants and then exiting the bookstore without paying.

A caller contacted Lee County Sheriff’s Office expressing concerns about a roommate that was sitting on the edge of the sixth floor of garage B with his feet over the edge. While the subject was removed, the roommates were concerned with his present mental state. The subject had been drinking and was also on medication during the incident. Before going to the sixth floor, the resident told his roommates that life isn’t worth living. When police arrived, he told his friends that he was going to kill himself as soon as the police left. He admitted to the officers that he had been suicidal in the past and had recently broken up with a past girlfriend, as well as admitting to thoughts of harming himself and that he did not know if he would jump off the garage or not. He was placed in temporary custody for his safety and then was detained under the Baker Act.

A resident of North Lake contacted UPD stating that noises that sounded like gunshots were coming from outside of his building. The sound was heard about 10 minutes before UPD arrived, and officers determined that the sound might have been from fireworks. They were unable to locate the source.
11/29/2015, 3:05 a.m.
A vehicle was stopped by UPD inside South Village after its occupants were seen vomiting on the side of the road. The two females who were pulled over had previously been at a house in San Carlos and were drinking alcohol. Upon arriving back on campus, the two students called two non-resident males to drive them back to their dorms. The students were then taken back to their dorms and were advised that information about the incident may be forwarded to Student Affairs.

UPD received a call from the front desk of a residence hall located in South Village notifying them that a resident stapled her fingers and could not remove the staple. UPD contacted a local hospital, and San Carlos EMS was en route when the 18-year-old refused transport. The case was then completed.
