The Estero Fine Art Show will take place at the Miromar Design Center this weekend on Jan. 2 and 3.
The Estero Fine Art Show has occurred annually for 17 years. The art show was voted in the top 100 art fairs in the country.
Original artwork from approximately 130 professional artists – sculptures, paintings, clay, glass, jewelry, fiber, wood, photography and mixed media – will be on display and available for sale.
Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to donate at least $5 to help support the institute.
The event helps support the Institute for the Arts in Education.
IAE is a nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of fine arts among people of various backgrounds. IAE is affiliated with Hot Works Fine Art & Craft Shows, the organization responsible for multiple art shows across the country. Patty Narozny currently serves as Hot Works’ Producer and Executive Director and has been with the company for more than 25 years.
“Our focus is visual arts, diversity, and fostering art education among the youth,” Narozny said.
The event was juried by art professionals with a combined total of more than 120 years of experience with either art education or art fairs or both.
Narozny said an intensive selection process takes place prior to the event.
“Every artist must be juried with three images of their work and one of their booth presentations, as they would set up at the show,” Narozny said. “It’s based on originality, technique, execution and booth appearance.”
The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Additionally, the event will  showcase artwork from local students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The students will be competing for $250 in awards. The award ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday. The youth competition is sponsored by Monkey Bars Storage Solutions.
To Narozny, the youth competition is beneficial for budding young artists.
“We expose students to the rules of being part of a professional art show and to the entrepreneurship and self-employment of doing something they love for a living,” Narozny said.
If you are unable to attend the art show next weekend, the event will be held again in late November 2016.
