At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning, UPD was notified of a person who had fallen from the sixth floor of Garage B at South Village Housing.
UPD responded and located the subject on the ground outside of the garage. Medical treatment was provided and the subject was transported to a hospital.
The last update UPD received about the subject is that they are expected to survive.
UPD interviewed witnesses and reviewed the security camera video. The video and accounts of witnesses confirmed that the subject had been in an argument and was under emotional duress. The subject got onto the ledge twice and ultimately fell.
People on scene were provided with information on services available on campus through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
