Name: Black History Month 365 Kick-Off

Place: Library Lawn

Description: Join the Multicultural and Leadership Development Center in introducing and kicking off Black History Month programming. There will be free items and food. 

 

Date: Feb. 3

Name: Rock Climbing at Fort Rock 

Time: 2:30 p.m.-5 p.m.

Place: All trips must meet at the FGCU Waterfront

Description: Bring a friend and test your climbing skills with RecVentures! With Fort Rocks 5,000 sq ft of climbing walls, you’re sure to have a blast and learn some new skills! It’s $30 per person and the price includes climbing time, gear, and transportation. The excursion will be at the Waterfront at 2:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Name: Cupid’s Keepsakes

Time: 2 p.m.- 4 p.m.

Place: Osprey Hall 3rd Floor Classroom

Description: During the event, students will be able to effectively communicate with each other by creating Valentine’s Day mailboxes.

Name: Lunar New Year

Time: 11 a.m.-1 a.m.

Place: Cohen Student Union 247

Description: Celebration the Chinese New Year with traditional red envelopes, making lanterns, and learning about the holiday and its meaning.

Name: Eagle Idol

Time: 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

Place: Library Lawn

Description: Want a chance to vote for the student opener for the Spring concert? Join the Programming Board for a fun, eventful night with free food and picking the next student opener for Eaglefest. 

 

Date: Feb. 13

Name: Movie Night

Time: 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

Place: Library Lawn

Description: Come relax on the Library Lawn and enjoy a movie, free snacks and drinks. 

  

Date: Feb. 14

Name: Partner Yoga

Time: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Place: FGCU Waterfront

Description: Grab your best pal or significant other for partner yoga at the waterfront. This class will engage you in a relaxing and fun class with a partner. Join the S’mores clinic after with RecVentures for a campfire treat. Limited mats will be offered so bring your own mat or beach towel if you can. 

 

Date: Feb. 14

Name: Sweetheart S’mores 

Time: 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Place: FGCU Waterfront

Description: Bring your special someone or your friends for free smores at the Waterfront. Registration is not required and the event takes place after Partner Yoga. 

 

Date: Feb. 23

Name: Late Night

Time: 9 p.m.-11:59 p.m.

Place: Library Lawn

Description: Come and join the Programming Board for an event on the Library Lawn. There will be free items provided.

Name: Live on the Lawn

Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Place: Library Lawn

Description: Come relax on the Library Lawn and enjoy an activity and free food on your way to class!

Delinah Rosario is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in theater. She is very involved on campus working with organizations such as the Multicultural and Leadership Development Center as the Director of Frosh Mosh as well as serving as a worship leader with Chi Alpha, a religious organization on campus. This is her third year as the Eagle News Opinion Editor, and she plans to make it a great one. She is certified in Photoshop and also has InDesign experience. Delinah also works for Housing and Residence Life as a desk assistant in West Lake Village. She has had a love for theater and writing since she was young and has plans to pursue a career in stage performance while working in freelance editing and writing. She is excited to see what this year will hold and excited for graduation in May 2024.
