FGCU women’s basketball rolls over Kennesaw

Taking a perfect 4-0 conference record into game two of its road trip, the FGCU women’s basketball team soared past Kennesaw State 78-47.
After having the contest moved to Tuesday due to Winter Storm Jonas, FGCU plowed through the storm to stay perfect in Atlantic Sun Conference behind four Eagles in double figures. A-Sun Player of the Week Whitney Knight led all-scorers with 13 points. To go along with her double-digit performance, Knight grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists.
Guard Kaneisha Atwater also ended the game in double figures with 11 points. Dishing out three assists to go along with her 11-point performance, Atwater also grabbed eight rebounds. Knocking down three shots from long range, Jessica Cattani scored a career-high 13 points to add to the Eagles’ dominating win. Cattani also grabbed three rebounds and tallied one assist in her careerhigh performance.
Taylor Gradinjan was the last of four Eagles in double-figures, finishing the contest with 12 points. Complementing her 12-point performance, Gradinjan also grabbed two rebounds and had three assists.
Now riding a ten-game win streak and a flawless 5-0 conference record, FGCU will wrap up its three-game road trip in Jacksonville when it takes on UNF at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.
