After earning his first cap for the senior Guatemala National Team during a 3-1 victory in a international with Honduras on Feb. 10, former FGCU standout Rodrigo Saravia has been called up to play again on the national stage.
The Atlantic Sun Player of the Year was called up to La Furia Azul for two CONCACAF 2018 World Cup Qualifier games against the United States National Team on March 17.
Saravia, who was selected 19th overall by the Columbus Crew in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, will be set to face the Stars and Stripes in his hometown of Guatemala City, Guatemala on March 25 before facing off against the USNT in Columbus, Ohio on March 29.
Currently in third place in Group C of the Fourth Round of CONCACAF qualification, Guatemala will look to earn some valuable points in their two matchups against the U.S. who sit atop of the group with four points.
