Lutgert dean is considered for UND presidency
January 28, 2016
Robert Beatty, the dean of the FGCU Lutgert College of Business, is one of the candidates for the president position of the University of North Dakota. The UND presidential search committee met Jan. 20, and narrowed the list of 41 original candidates to 15.
The candidates will now be interviewed by the search committee Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If Beatty is selected as a semi-finalist, he and the rest of the candidates that qualify will be invited to the UND campus between the dates of Feb. 11 and March 3 to meet with the search committee, as well as several constituency groups. The search committee will then request feedback from the UND faculty, staff, students and all other constituencies.
The final meeting of the search committee is scheduled for March 7, where the final slate of candidates will be determined. The list of finalists will then be forwarded to the State Board of Higher Education, which will in turn conduct final interviews on the UND campus March 15 and announce the next UND president thereafter. Provost Ronald Toll was not available for comment.
