Two dead and 17 injured in nightclub shooting in Fort Myers

UPDATE: (July 25, 9:48 p.m.) At least two people have been killed and 17 others have been injured in a shooting outside of a nightclub in Fort Myers early Monday morning.
According to nbcnews.com, at around 12:30 a.m., officers arrived at the scene at Club Blu Bar and Grill and found several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victims were between the ages of 12 and 27. Shawn Achilles (14) and Stef’an Strawder (18) were killed. Strawder was a rising senior at Lehigh Senior High School and was one of three finalists for The News-Press Basketball Player of the Year.
According to The News-Press, three people are currently in custody — Demetrius O’Neal, Derrick Church and Tajze Battle. The FBI as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms are assisting local police in searching for other potential victims.
“We are deeply sorry for all involved,” Club Blu stated in a Facebook post. “We tried giving the teens what we thought was a safe place to have a good time.”
