An assistant professor of philosophy at FGCU was placed on administrative leave with pay according to Susan Evans, FGCU’s vice president and chief of staff.
FGCU is investigating Dr. Mohamad Al-Hakim after undisclosed concerns were brought to the university’s attention. Since the investigation is ongoing, the school cannot elaborate on the manner of these concerns.
“There’s only limited information I can provide at this time,” Evans said. “We’re unable to comment on its nature or any specific details.”
The outcome of the investigation will determine if and when the university can offer further information regarding this situation.
