A student housing employee requested an officer standby at Osprey Hall on Tuesday, Mar. 10. Officers found contraband, and the subject tested positive for THC. Nothing was seized by UPD and university housing disposed of paraphernalia.
UPD received a report of a golf cart that was stolen during a meeting UPD on Tuesday, Mar. 10 at Griffin Hall. An officer responded to find a member in the meeting with the complainant had moved the cart during the meeting with the complainant’s knowledge. The cart was located near the bus loop.
A student was Baker Acted after reports of taking a large dose of sleeping pills in Everglades Hall on Wednesday, Mar. 11. Officers received a request from the AOC stated that the subject had stated he took six sleeping pills and then left the building. Although there were no witnesses to him taking the pills, officers had found empty pill bottles in his room during a welfare check in the fall. Housing followed up with UPD when the subject returned to the building and the subject was escorted to Park Royal Hospital. The identity and condition of the subject are unknown to us at this time.
Officers were requested for a standby in Osprey Hall during a housing admin. search on Thursday, Mar. 12. Alcohol, a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia were found and thrown out by housing.
UPD received a request for a welfare check on Friday, March 13. The mother called and told UPD that her daughter, who is a student, wasn’t answering the phone after informing her that she wasn’t feeling well. Roommates told the mother that she isn’t in her dorm and that she might be in Palmetto Hall with her boyfriend. AOC was notified and informed she was on her way to the boyfriend’s room. Both were found and were asked to call parents.
