Fall is my favorite season of the year. Summer is too hot for me, but autumn is just right, or as close as I can get without melting when I walk out the door. There’s something special about noticing it earlier sunsets, the slightly cooler weather, pumpkin spice everything, binge-watching scary movies and of course, all the amazing Halloween festivities that come around.
Personally, I like to get myself comfortable with a nice bag of fresh popcorn and butterfingers to binge-watch classic horror movies. It’s a necessity every fall. I also like picking out Halloween decorations. Whenever I go into a Halloween store, I have to bring a restricted amount of cash with me because I spend way too much. I can’t help it though; I start looking at all the props and potential costume ideas.
There are a lot of festivities going on in Fort Myers this fall such as pumpkin patches, outdoor movies, haunted walks, spooky art exhibits, costume contests and more! If you’re looking for witches, zombies, aliens or ghosts, you’ll find these monsters and ghouls scattered throughout this fall season in Southwest Florida.
The Calusa Nature Center and the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau are bringing back the iconic Haunted Walk. This year, the theme is Dead by Dawn and will run every weekend in October, starting October 6. If you dare to take on the mission where you must survive until dawn, don’t hesitate to buy a ticket for $25.
There will also be a dark art exhibit at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center. It opens on October 6, at 6 p.m. and will close on October 25, at 10 p.m. Entry fees are donation based. If you’re someone who loves art, this is an awesome chance to experience art that dives into darker aspects of human nature. The art will explore themes of death, decay, horror and the unknown. The exhibit will feature paintings, photography, sculptures and mixed media projects.
Fleamasters Flea Market will be hosting a Pumpkin Palooza on October 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4135 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. There will be pumpkin patches, pumpkin decorating, face painting, games, bounce houses and live entertainment! This would be the perfect event to attend with friends and family, as well as take festive pictures.
There will be a Rocky Horror Picture Show outdoor movie event occurring Saturday, October 14 at 5p.m. at 10091 McGregor Blvd Fort Myers, FL. Tickets will range from $5-$50. I think this sounds like a blast! This event is all about having a good time. There will be a costume contest, raffles, food trucks, alcohol, vendors and a movie. Also, if you plan on attending, make sure you bring your own blankets or lawn chairs.
There are so many things to do this fall in Fort Myers, it makes it easy to find something for everyone.
