On Jan. 24, the Florida Board of Governors (BOG) approved FGCU’s strategic plan. FGCU’s president, Dr. Aysegul Timur, presented the plan to the BOG, and it was unanimously approved.

The plan had been in development for almost two years, and was worked on by both the Strategic Roadmap Committee and the Strategic Plan Steering Committee.

The document is designed to guide FGCU and contains some of the goals and objectives the university wants to meet in the future.

In an email sent out following the approval of the plan, President Timur thanked the committee members and people who helped on the plan.

“Truly, the members of the 2022 Strategic Roadmap and 2023 Strategic Plan steering committees pulled together faculty, staff, students, our Trustees and many stakeholders from the larger community to provide insight on FGCU’s future. The feedback we received can be seen throughout our newly approved strategic plan – from our revised mission and vision statements to our goals and objectives,” she said.
