‘Project: Vision Matters’ offers free vision screenings
October 15, 2015
The Bonita Springs Lions Eye Clinic will be starting a volunteer project Friday Oct. 16, benefiting low-income families in the area by providing them free vision screenings.
The clinic is looking for volunteers interested in medical and health fields to serve for its efforts in “Project: Vision Matters.” Doctors will train volunteers and perform vision screening tests on patients. The clinic will also be fundraising and collecting unused glasses and sunglasses as donations to the clinic.
The clinic is looking for volunteers to assist with and run vision screenings, tabling, web designing, translating Spanish, fundraising, collecting glasses and spreading awareness of the event. Volunteers interested in the medical field will have an opportunity to shadow doctors while serving the community and gaining service-learning hours.
