The FGCU Eagles cross-country teams will be heading to the NCAA South Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 13 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The events will begin with the women’s 6K race at 9 a.m. and followed by the men’s 10k race at 10 a.m. There will be close to 500 students at the cross-country event, including the FGCU Eagles.
Last year, at this same championship, the men’s team walked away in 17th place overall and the women came in 24th place. This year, both teams will be going up against big name schools, such as Florida State, Georgia Teach, Mississippi State, and Alabama. FGCU will be sending nearly 20 athletes to compete in the races. After placing third overall this past weekend at the Atlantic Sun Championship, the FGCU Eagles are ready to take on the 35 universities that will be represented this weekend in Alabama.
