If you’re in the market for a lovable new dog, then look no further than P.A.W.S.
P.A.W.S. of Lee County is hosting its final adoption event of 2015 at two various PetSmart locations Saturday, Dec. 19.
Two adoption events will occur simultaneously on Dec. 19. One will take place from 11:30 a.m. to3:30 p.m. at PetSmart at the Coconut Point Mall in Estero, 8006 Mediterranean Drive. The second event will be at the PetSmart in Cape Coral, 1819 NE Pine Island Road from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
P.A.W.S. of Lee County is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping pet owners in Lee County spay or neuter their pets in the hopes of decreasing the number of homeless, mistreated and abandoned pets in the community. P.A.W.S. also provides several kinds of vaccines for diseases like rabies and Bordetella.
The organization is attempting to find homes for its rescue dogs in time for the holiday season. P.A.W.S. previously held adoption events earlier in December.
P.A.W.S. stresses that a pet is not a Christmas present but a ten-year commitment every person in a household should agree to. You should avoid adopting a dog or any other pet if you are unable or unwilling to take care of it for a long period of time.
If you are unable to adopt a dog but still want to support P.A.W.S. of Lee County or if you want to learn more about any additional services it provides, check out the P. A.W. S. at pawsofleecounty.blogspot.com.
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment to spay or neuter your pet, you can contact P.A.W.S. at 239-652-6722.
