If you recall the particularly petty and ridiculous gubernatorial debate in 2014 for the Florida seat, it’s no surprise that our very own Rick Scott (R) is somewhat of a snake — a Floridian precursor to Donald Trump, if you will.
Florida’s governor, infamous for causing a fuss about a small fan used by former Gov. Charlie Christ on the debate stage, aka “fangate,” is notorious for dodging questions, directing people to his website and being overall shady. After all, lizard people need to cool off somehow.
Now, this reptilian politician has linked arms with the devil incarnate, Donald Trump, in an endorsement of the century. It’s like a presidential campaign where Hitler is the frontrunner and Lord Voldemort is backing him up.
But, what brings the two politicians together the most may be their dedication to dodging the hard questions. This was made evident in an interview last week on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” where Scott avoided a question posed by host Joe Scarborough on whether or not he thought Muslims hated America.
“Well, as you know, in Florida, we’re the best melting pot in the world. We love everybody coming to our state,” Scott said.
“That could be a reasonable policy position if you want to debate that, and we can debate that issue,” Scarborough said. “I’m just asking, generally, do you think that Muslims hate Americans, that Islam hates America as Donald Trump said last night?”
“I can tell you what’s going on in Florida,” Scott began. At this point, you could hear deep frustration from the producers backstage at the trainwreck this segment had become.
Scott, sporting a smile that only a serial killer would boast, would not budge on the issue, and the segment was cut short. What is Scott hiding? Xenophobia against Muslims?
Either way, I think we can all agree that we’re tired of Rick Scott’s constant dodging and his talking about bringing jobs to Florida. If we as citizens of Florida do not condone our governor for rallying support for Trump, we aren’t doing our ethical duty. And, with his shady lizard-like behavior, Scott should not be trusted by anyone, especially Muslims.
