SG Pro Tempore Confirmed as New Senate President

At the Student Government Senate meeting on Sept. 26, Pro Tempore Ella Golden succeeded Tyler Varnadore as Senate President. Golden was unanimously confirmed by her fellow senators following gavel order, where the next chair in line is offered the position.

Golden has been involved in Student Government since Fall 2022, when she was appointed as a Senator in November. She was elected as Pro Tempore in April of 2023.

The move comes after the resignation of former Senate President Tyler Varnadore last Friday, who remains in the Senate as a Senator for the College of Business. The Pro Tempore position is currently open and can only be filled by members of the Legislative Branch.

When she is not making the Eagle News magazine, she can be found biking around campus or reading a new book.
