Place: Sovi Green

Description: Come out to the Sovi Green and celebrate Pride! There will be free Publix popcorn chicken, snacks and drinks. Activities will include tote bags/pencil pouch painting, music and good vibes!

Name: Global Gala

Time: 7 p.m.- 10 p.m.

Place: Cohen Ballroom 

Description: This special occasion is dedicated to celebrating campus diversity and acknowledging the various multicultural groups at FGCU. The event will feature performances by different organizations and of course an array of delicious foods!

Name: MGC Week: Game Night

Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Place: Osprey Hall 3002 and Video Game Room

Description: Come join the Multicultural Greek Council as they play board games, card games and video games.

Name: Grad Fest @ the Nest

Time: 6 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Place: Cohen Student Union Ballroom

Description: Join your classmates and celebrate your upcoming graduation. Walk the blue carpet, eat, drink and dance if you’d like. You can also be sure you are ready for “what’s next” after graduation by connecting with FGCU career and internship experts, employers and the Graduate Admissions Team before heading over to the party. There is also an opportunity to have a professional headshot taken so dress your best.

Name: Clothing Drive

Time: noon- 2 p.m.

Place: Academic Building 9 Room 138

Description: Join ACE Women’s Network and the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance in a clothing drive with Azul’s Attire. There will also be a special presentation from Dr. Judith Macgregor.

 

Date: April 12

Name: Eagle Fest 2024

Time: 5:30 p.m.- 11 p.m.

Place: Recreation Field 1

Description: Join Programming Board for Eagle Fest 2024 with performances by Juicy J, DVBBS, Paul Russell, and Graham Barham. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:00 p.m. Student Tickets are $20 and guest tickets are $35. Tickets will also increase on the day of the show so get them early.

Name: Lavender Graduation

Time: 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.

Place: Academic Building 9- Room 138

Description: This is an annual ceremony to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and ally students and acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the university. 

 

Date: April 25

Name: Puppy Palooza!

Time: 9 a.m.- noon

Place: Cohen Lawn

Description: Join University Recreation and Wellness and the Cape Coral Animal Shelter as they bring puppies to campus before finals week. Stop by and spend some time cuddling with these cuties to help you de-stress and take a break from studying. Don’t forget to get your dog stress-reliever item on the way out.

Name: Late Night Breakfast

Time: 8 p.m.- 10 p.m.

Place: Cohen Lot and Ballroom

Description: Take a break from your finals and join OSI for some free food and items.

Delinah Rosario is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in theater. She is very involved on campus working with organizations such as the Multicultural and Leadership Development Center as the Director of Frosh Mosh as well as serving as a worship leader with Chi Alpha, a religious organization on campus. This is her third year as the Eagle News Opinion Editor, and she plans to make it a great one. She is certified in Photoshop and also has InDesign experience. Delinah also works for Housing and Residence Life as a desk assistant in West Lake Village. She has had a love for theater and writing since she was young and has plans to pursue a career in stage performance while working in freelance editing and writing. She is excited to see what this year will hold and excited for graduation in May 2024.
