A water main break occurred underground near the west side of FGCU’s Arts Complex around 1 a.m. Thursday.
According to Director of University Communications & Media Relations Pamela McCabe, Lee County was able to repair the issue within two hours.
“To fix it, the water valves at nearby facilities were turned off for a brief period of time, impacting water pressure in some areas of campus,” McCabe said. “Water pressure was quickly restored, and FGCU staff are on campus and continuing to monitor water pressure.”
The situation was unrelated to the storm caused by Hurricane Helene.
