“Gilmore Girls” revival gets release date

“Gilmore Girls” fans everywhere just about had a simultaneous heart attack when news was announced that the franchise was going to be putting out a sequel set. Well, on July 27, Netflix finally announced on their Facebook page, with a less than two-minute video, that the show is set to premiere Nov. 25.
“Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” will be composed of four 90 minute mini-movies: rumored to represent the four parts of one year simply titled “Spring” “Summer” “Fall” and “Winter.”
In the announcement video, the viewer can get a glimpse of the town we all grew to love. With shots of the Dragonfly Inn and Luke’s, its hard not getting nostalgic.
But the best part is seeing the main characters; Lorelai (played by Lauren Graham) and Rory (played by Alexis Bledel) join together at the dinner table to discuss if Lorelai and Amy Schumer could possibly be best friends. The video was a great reminder on why we fell in love with mother-daughter duo back in the first place.
Like the “Full House” revamp, “Fuller House,” the series will be streaming on Netflix rather than on ABC, where is premiered in 2000.
As far as cast renewals for the sequel go, this one’s done a close to perfect job, signing on almost the entire cast.
The original “Gilmore Girls,” Lorelai, Rory and Emily (played by Kelly Bishop) are all confirmed to return.
Lorelai’s pivotal love interests, Luke (played by Scott Patterson) and Christopher (played by David Sutcliffe) will also be making a return to the beloved series.
Rory’s string of boyfriends signed on to return as well, such as Dean (played by Jared Padalecki), Jess (played by Milo Ventimigilia) and Logan (played by Matt Czuchry).
Your favorite supporting characters are even making an appearance. This includes Rory’s best friend Paris Geller (played by Liz Weil) and Sookie St. James (played by perhaps the biggest star of all the reuniting actors: Melissa McCarthy.)
Many of the quirky Stars Hollow residents will also be making an appearance in the show such as Miss Patty (played by Liz Torres), Kirk (played by Sean Gunn) and Michel (played by Yanic Truesdale).
With a huge fan base and star-studded cast, the revamp is sure to create a lot of buzz, and hopefully be as well liked as the original series.
