Shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, at least 5 dead

At least five people were killed and at least eight were injured in a shooting at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday, Jan. 6.
According to CNN, the airport was evacuated and the shooter, Esteban Santiago, 26, is now in custody.
According to NBC 6, Santiago was a passenger on a Canadian flight with a checked gun. The shooter claimed his baggage and then proceeded to a bathroom to load his gun. Then, Santiago came out and started shooting.
Santiago was on Delta flight #1088, traveling from Anchorage, Alaska to Minneapolis-St. Paul, which landed Friday morning. From there he took Delta flight #2182 to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, where the shooting took place.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport tweeted at 1:16 p.m. that “There is an ongoing incident in Terminal 2, Baggage Claim.”

According to Broward County Sheriffs Twitter, a call was received around 12:55 p.m. about shots being fired.

A little over an hour later, Broward County Sheriff tweeted that there were unconfirmed reports of additional shots fired.

There is no confirmation if there was an additional shooter at the airport.
