“No coffee shop in Cape Coral has better coffee, better people, or a better atmosphere – we guarantee it,” this mission statement is shared by the Urban Buzz owners. Urban Buzz is a drive thru coffee shop located off Del Prado in Cape Coral, Fla.
Alex Eble brought his dream to life of owning a coffee shop when moved back home to Florida in May 2019 and officially opened in April 2020.
“I wanted to be closer to my family since I was living in Colorado,” said Eble. “I worked a coffee shop and wanted my love for making coffee to move back home with me.”
The name was inspired by his mom when seeing the word Buzz on a street sign in Colorado.
“We were stuck on the word Urban, but did not know if we should use coffee or café to go with it,” said Eble. “Buzz matched perfectly when my mom mentioned that word.”
Every month, Eble and his co-workers come up with a secret menu for each month. Urban Buzz has over 60 flavors offered and they are constantly experimenting with drinks.
The most popular drink is the OG, a caramel macchiato version Eble crafted.
“What makes us stand out from our competitors is our premium quality of ingredients,” said Eble. “We use Kona coffee from Hawaii and use flavors that do not need the large quantities of sugar most places use.”
Not only does the Urban Buzz staff take pride in their coffee, but they work hard to serve the community. Their most recent project was collecting donations for toys and food around the holiday season.
“During October, we collected donations for a mother who lives in Cape Coral that was diagnosed with Breast Cancer,” said Eble. “I try to have as many outreaches events as possible to give back to my community.”
Eble shared that he was blessed that they opened before COVID-19 hit because his business was not hurt drastically during the pandemic. Since they are a drive thru coffee shop, the staff are able to follow the CDC guidelines with socially distancing from the customers and wearing face coverings.
“Since our business is growing, we are in the market for another location in the near future,” said Eble.
