Dude, where’s my car?

The hole that mysteriously appeared in North Lake

Two vehicles were involved in a crash on Thursday, October 11 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on FGCU Lake Parkway West. According to University Police, the crash resulted from indecision between two parties making turns at the same time. To avoid a head-on collision, evasive maneuvers were made by both cars. There was no contact made between either vehicle, but one car driven by student Cody Adkinson hit the cinder block wall to the entrance of North Lake Village. Although there were no serious injuries, one rear passenger in the crash hit his head on a rest causing a laceration that required stitches. The passenger refused help from Lee County EMS and accepted a ride from a friend to a hospital. The damaged vehicle was towed from the scene and appeared totaled, police said. FGCU Physical Plant employees estimate that repairs to the wall, stop sign and electrical box will cost $15,000. – Tiara Brown, news editor
