Since 2017, FGCU has dedicated Homecoming Week as a time to celebrate current students and alumni by organizing events and inviting special guests.

This year, FGCU’s Homecoming Department will be hosting a comedy show Feb. 15, featuring stand-up comedian and internet sensation, Trevor Wallace.

Wallace’s comedy career began as a college student by uploading short, satirical videos to the social media platform, Vine. His first viral series of videos on YouTube were centered around the clothing and skateboard brand, Zumiez. Wallace’s popularity grew as he continued to create comedic content across various social media outlets.

Now, he has accumulated a following of 2.6 million on Instagram and 3.8 million subscribers on YouTube.

Wallace has toured the U.S. performing stand-up comedy at universities, theaters, and comedy festivals. He was nominated as a finalist for “Best in Comedy” at the 2020 Shorty Awards. The Shorty Awards are for innovative content creators, brands, and advertising agencies that focus on honoring social media achievements.

In 2022, Wallace embarked on his cross-country “Are You That Guy?” stand-up comedy tour.

The FGCU Homecoming comedy show is set to take place on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 8:00 p.m. in the Cohen Student Union Ballroom. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and close at 7:45 p.m.

Limited seats are available and only one ticket is available per student. To reserve a spot, students are required to RSVP through Eagle Link.
