Tampa Bay Comic Con sure to be a good time

Have you been looking for a chance to unveil your Imperial Stormtrooper armor? Have you been waiting for your chance to meet actresses from films like Star Wars and The Hunger Games? Well, charge up your Comlink and dig out your autograph book because here’s your chance.
The annual Tampa Bay Comic Con will start at 12 p.m. Friday, July 31 at the Tampa Convention Center.
The three-day event of all things nerdy will continue at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 and 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2.
Tickets for the event range from $30 to $60. Children, 12 years old and younger, get in for free.
The 600,000-square-foot convention center will play host to celebrity meet-and-greets, tutorials and demonstrations, cosplay, concerts, contests, games, competitions and film screenings.
Children, 10 years old and younger, can enjoy free crafts and games in the League of Little Legends Kids Zone.
Celebrity appearances include Carrie Fisher of Star Wars, Jena Malone of The Hunger Games and Leah Thompson of the Back to the Future trilogy. Con-goers will also find actors from shows like Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, SpongeBob SquarePants and Futurama.
Last year’s Comic Con hosted nearly 44,000 attendees.
The Tampa Convention Center is located at 333 S. Franklin St. Tampa, FL 33602.
ParkingPanda.com will handle parking for the event. Rates range from $10 to $26.
